Author Biography

Alejandro Pisanty, UNAM

Alejandro Pisanty is a Professor in Facultad de Química, UNAM (National University of Mexico) on sabbatical leave at CentroGeo where he supports and advises on information technology policy and distance education. He studied Chemistry (BSc, MSc, PhD) at UNAM and was a postdoctoral fellow in the Max-Planck Institute for Solid-State Research. He has been Director of Academic Computing Services and Coordinator of Open and Distance Education at UNAM; Vice-Chair of the Board of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers; and Founding Chair of CUDI, the Internet-2 organization of Mexico. At present he is Chair of ISOC Mexico and a Trustee of the Internet Society.
